COATS Announces New Standard in LED Balancers

December 18, 2008

Hennessy Industries has answered the automotive shop’s call with its new COATS 1250-3D Wheel Balancer. Designed with the versatile, high volume shop in mind, the 1250-3D boasts all the features you need rolled into one great front line balancer.

With its ability to automatically position the tire and wheel assembly at the corrective weight position, the COATS 1250-3D stops and locks the spindle to aid in wheel weight installation. Additionally, operators are able to automatically index the tire and wheel assembly to the next corrective weight position with just the touch of a button, resulting in increased overall cycle time and accurate corrective weight placement. The stop and lock function works seamlessly with the EconoBalance balancing mode, resulting in decreased use of corrective weight and reducing the number of “re-spins” compared to conventional balancers.

In an effort to streamline the balancing process, COATS has equipped the 1250-3D with a 3-D Auto Data Entry system. Just touch the A&D and lower the hood; sensors automatically measure all three parameters for analyzing balance, virtually eliminating lengthy measuring and manual data entry. However, the balancer also offers manual control backup when necessary.

The 1250-3D takes the guesswork out of placing the Tape-A-Weight. Its onboard Laser Guidance Operation system pinpoints correct weight placement by marking at the six o’clock position to ensure accurate balance. It also handles tricky behind-the-spoke balances that are often the most time consuming. The automatic stop and lock at weight position feature assists by eliminating rotation searches for placement cues.

An easy-to-read LED interface featuring visual cues and keypad promotes proper balancing techniques and faster floor-to-floor times by providing operators step-by-step instructions. The Static on Screen display offers a simultaneous view of static and dynamic data and can identify any excess residual static imbalance.

The patented COATS Direct Drive system, with its 1.5 HP Direct Drive motor, works to improve wheel balancing speed, accuracy and dependability to positively affect your bottom line. Unlike belt-drive systems, the 1250-3D lets operators know their wheels are properly balanced when they see zeros appear on the screen. Another benefit of Direct Drive is there are no belts to slip or pulleys to wear out.

Other features of the COATS 1250-3D include a convenient and logical wheel weight storage system to keep weights at your fingertips (right where you need them most), a 40 MM engine shaft designed to handle the toughest passenger car and light weight truck applications, and the ability to work with eight balancing modes including static, dynamic, four-alloy options, behind the spoke and patch balance.
