Bosch has released the second version of ESI[tronic] 2009 Scan Test Software for its award-winning KTS series scan tools for import vehicle diagnostics. The tool series includes the KTS 200 hand-held device, and the KTS 570
Bluetooth-based vehicle interface. The ESI[tronic] software that powers these tools provides the workshop with comprehensive information for finding and eliminating defects. As a leader in vehicle diagnostics, Bosch offers shops the state-of-the-art tools they need to compete in today’s increasingly competitive environment. Workshops must keep their scan tools current with the most recent data to provide the best service possible.
ESI[tronic] software provides coverage for up to 60 different types of electronic systems from 100 vehicle manufacturers. KTS tool owners with current subscriptions receive four updates each year, ensuring the most current information and additional functions. For KTS 200 non-subscribers, every update is also available as a single purchase.
The release of this new software further enhances the KTS series tools. Currently, Bosch offers two tools in this line, serving a variety of functions depending on the budget and services offered by workshops. The KTS 200 is simple to use and affordable while providing powerful, in-depth ECU diagnostic capability including reading and clearing DTCs, accessing live data and actual values, resetting service intervals, monitoring and servicing functions for oil changes, tire pressure, headlights, air conditioning and brakes; and initializing sensors after chassis examination. For additional features and complete flexibility, the KTS 570 provides advanced technology, such as Bluetooth wireless and USB connectivity, a 2-channel oscilloscope, 2-channel multimeter, integrated change adapters, and extended measuring technology for comprehensive troubleshooting.
The new 2009 V2 release of the ESI[tronic] software provides recent data for most vehicle systems up to model year 2009 on European and Asian vehicles. The European ECU package provides data for Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and Volvo, while the Asian ECU package provides data for Toyota, Lexus, Scion, Honda, Acura, Nissan, Infiniti, Hyundai and Kia.
Some highlights within the new release include:
Fast, and easy system overview (module status) for Audi/VW
Instrument cluster and central electronics added for Volvo (1998 2009)
Auto transmission and instrumentation for Honda/Acura (2000 2009)
Engine management for most 2007-2009 Nissan/Infiniti CAN vehicles
