New Bar's Leaks Head Gasket & Cooling Sealant Permanently Repairs the Biggest Leaks

October 29, 2009

Professional strength chemical head gasket repair is available for technicians and do-it-yourselfers in a new easy-to-use formula: Bar’s Leaks Carbon Fiber Block Seal Head Gasket & Cooling Sealant.

Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket & Cooling Sealant (p/n HG-1) was developed for professional technicians. It is the strongest formula available to permanently seal any coolant leak in plastic, cast iron, copper and aluminum radiators, heater cores, freeze plugs, gaskets, intake manifolds, cylinder heads and engine blocks. It repairs blown head and intake gasket leaks, seals cracked cylinder heads and blocks, stops heater core and radiator leaks, fixes leaking freeze and core plugs, and stops overheating. It works in any water-cooled car, truck, van or SUV, even those with finicky Northstar engines.

“Bar’s Products has led the world in cooling system stop leaks for more than 60 years, from the original Bar’s Leaks Radiator Stop Leak to Head Gasket Repair, the first permanent head gasket chemical repair that we introduced in 2004. Over the last five years, we’ve continued to explore new formulas in order to best meet the needs of professional vehicle repair technicians,” says Clay Parks, vice president of development for Bar’s Products, manufacturer of Bar’s Leaks. “Unfortunately, with the current state of the economy, many people who own older vehicles that have blown head gaskets or major leaks can’t afford professional repairs. Therefore, we’ve decided to make this new product available to everyone, professionals and vehicle owners alike.”

Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket & Cooling Sealant will debut in booth #4010 at AAPEX 2009 in Las Vegas, Nov. 3-5, 2009.

The exclusive formula combines an antifreeze-compatible liquid glass (sodium silicate) with aramid and refractory fibers: the same super-strong, heat-resistant materials used in bulletproof vests and fireproof clothing. The formula is further reinforced with carbon fiber to bridge larger leaks and create a truly permanent seal that is stronger than the original head gasket itself. Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket & Cooling Sealant also features the proprietary wetting agent Xtreme Cool. Xtreme Cool reduces the surface tension of coolant — which increases its wetting ability — as well as improves heat transfer and reduces coolant temperature. As a result, Xtreme Cool helps prevent future leaks and overheating.

There is no need to flush the cooling system before installing Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket & Cooling Sealant. It is added directly to the (cold) radiator. The vehicle is ready to drive less than an hour after installation. Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket & Cooling Sealant is compatible with all types of antifreeze, including conventional green or blue (silicate-based) and extended life red/orange or yellow (OAT/HOAT). For racing applications, it works great in straight water.

The MSRP for Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket & Cooling Sealant is $59.95 per liter bottle. This is considerably less than the $2,500 or so it can cost to professionally repair a blown head gasket. It is available to distribution in case packs of four. Like all Bar’s Leaks products, Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket & Cooling Sealant is made in the U.S.A. The label includes directions in both English and Spanish.
