As a result of customer demand, LINK Tools has designed and produced new all-metal locking ratchets manufactured with a tether hole at the bottom of the handle. This allows users to easily attach the ratchet to a wrist tether or tool belt to prevent dropped tools and accidents while working at heights or in sensitive areas.
Called The Locker, they utilize the superior, time-tested connecting mechanism found on other LINK drive tools: the case-hardened spring-actuated steel pin, recessed groove and ribbed releasing collar that provides the simplest, yet most secure locking in mechanics’ hand tools. Just a simple push-on of a standard socket or drive tool to securely lock any tools together from hand-to-work; pull back on the collar to release when you want.
These ratchets are also more efficient. An opening on the top of the ratchet allows the attachment of a second ratchet to double the speed and productivity. LINK tools have been shown in real-world user tests to allow technicians to complete a task 25% - 50% more quickly than ordinary hand tools. This could mean significant savings at any facility that uses mechanics’ hand tools.
The new Locker ratchets in 100% high polish nickel-plated heat-treated chrome vanadium steel with built-in tether hole are available in 1/4" and 3/8" drive sizes. They join the 1/2" drive Locker ratchet with composite handle and tether hole to provide manufacturers that require Foreign Object Exclusion, Foreign Material Exclusion, Foreign Object Damage mitigation, height risk minimization or dropped tool mitigation with the utmost in security, safety and productivity.
LINK tools are in already in use at some of the nation’s most demanding manufacturers in aerospace (such as United Space Alliance, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman), the vast majority of North American nuclear power plants and various U.S. military facilities.
