Safely Crush and Drain Aerosol Cans for Cost Efficient Disposal with Herkules AFC2

March 31, 2011

Herkules Equipment Corporation manufactures an air-operated Aerosol Can Crusher, model AFC2, that punctures, drains and crushes cans, providing an efficient and environmentally safe method for disposing waste and reducing costs. Up to two cans are flattened in a 25-60 second cycle and 95% to 98% of the residual liquid is removed. An outlet valve allows for draining and capturing the liquid from the Crusher. The cans are reduced by 98% of original size in seconds. Herkules’ Crushers are explosion-proof and are equipped with an operator safety function ensuring the door latch is closed before the crushing mechanism is activated.

The AFC2’s activated carbon filter absorbs much of the gas contaminants and odors. A fume extractor also directs the gases outside of the AFC2 area. The external systems to handle evacuated gases and captured liquids should be managed according to local regulations.

The AFC2 is powered by Herkules powerful Air Bag Technology, eliminating the hazards and maintenance problems associated with hydraulics or electricity. The 15 tons of crushing force is enough to shatter the mixing ball in the aerosol can assuring total compaction. The Air Bags are virtually maintenance-free.
