Bartec USA announces the addition of 23 vehicles whereby the Tech400Pro and Tech500 can adjust the recommended inflation pressure [RIP or placard]. Seven of these additions are brand new, never offered before coverage, says the company. This update numbered 54.2 is available to current subscribers to tools.bartecusa.com.

Bartec advises that it is best practice that whenever wheel and tire combinations are either plus-sized, or up-fitted like moving from a “P” rated tire to an “LT” tire, the recommended inflation pressure [RIP] should be changed in order to maintain the same load carry capacity for the vehicle. This applies to cars and light trucks. When the RIP changes, the TPMS must be recalibrated, otherwise the trigger point for low tire pressure will not be accurate. Adjusting the vehicle’s RIP [or placard] keeps the TPMS operative and the consumer safe.
