Chicago Pneumatic tools and the people who make them have been given a starring role in a new episode of TV series “Wicked Inventions.” The pop science series looks at the way items are invented, manufactured and used to change the world around us.
The show’s producers chose Chicago Pneumatic as an example of how doing things just a little bit differently, with an emphasis on how inspiration, passion and commitment can change lives. Founded in 1901, the company helped to build many of America’s landmarks on its way to becoming a global brand.
“Our people start the day, every day, with the drive to research, develop, manufacture and deliver the products that meet our customers’ needs,” says Eva Marie, global communication and brands manager for Chicago Pneumatic. “They are dedicated to delivering superior pneumatic tools that improve productivity and efficiency in tasks ranging from tire-changing to industrial grinding and welding. This was a great opportunity to have their passion and commitment recognized by a wider audience, so we were delighted to provide the television cameras with a behind-the-scenes look at our operations.”
“Wicked Inventions” follows the manufacturing process of a pneumatic screwdriver from the point at which an order is delivered, through to final testing and packing for delivery to the customer. The filming for the episode took place at Chicago Pneumatic’s factory in Hungary, which has been making pneumatic screwdrivers for more than nine years.
One of the people featured in the episode is Joel Draelants, global business development manager for Chicago Pneumatic. He says: “We were very proud to be chosen to feature in this science series. We hope the episode featuring our Hungarian operations provides our existing and potential customers with a fascinating insight into the combination of technology, expertise and passion that goes into producing all Chicago Pneumatic products.”
