Bosch offers an array of diagnostic test and service equipment that is quite possibly the broadest such line in the automotive aftermarket. The product line includes a full range of diagnostic tools for engine management and electrical/electronic systems, as well as a broad line of wheel, tire, and brake service equipment. These tools are designed to provide fast and accurate servicing of domestic, Asian and European vehicles.
Diagnostic Tools
The Bosch product line for engine and electronic systems ranges from simple digital multimeters and battery testers to full-featured diagnostic consoles. Specifically, the line includes:
• Digital multimeters, including models suitable for hybrid vehicles;
• DTC scan tools;
• Deep diagnostic tools for powertrain systems, chassis systems, and body systems;
• Flash reprogrammers;
• Starting/charging analyzers;
• A/C service equipment; and
• Diagnostic smoke tester.
Bosch diagnostic tools are supported by Bosch’s exclusive ESI[tronic] software package which provides extraordinarily detailed technical information, with data that is country/region selectable. In addition, most Bosch equipment is designed to be PC/laptop compatible with wireless PC connectivity.
Bosch Diagnostics tools are supported by Shop Foreman Pro, a PC application that enables integration and analysis of data from multiple Bosch testers in a single PC, along with built-in web browser to allow the simultaneous viewing of web-based service information with on-site diagnostic data.
Wheel Service Equipment
Bosch offers wheel alignment and wheel balancing equipment for light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles. This equipment is compatible with factory and aftermarket wheels, and will accommodate wheels sizes up to 26“ diameter, 20“ width, and weighing as much as 154 lbs.
Wheel alignment systems include:
• Hard-wired console for flat-floor (no ramps/tracks) with wheel clamps/heads;
• Wireless console for flat-floor (no ramps/tracks) with wheel clamps/heads;
• Wireless console for heavy-duty trucks — flat floor, with wheel clamps/heads; and
• New Easy 3D aligner, highly mobile, can be operated by one person using quick and simple runout compensation.
Wheel balancing equipment include:
• Compact wheel balancer;
• Mid-volume wheel balancer;
• High volume wheel balancer; and
• Diagnostic wheel balancer, four-harmonic parameters, match-mounts wheels/tires to solve eccentricity-based vibration problems.
Brake Service Equipment
Shops performing brake service can choose from on-car or off-car brake lathes available from Bosch Diagnostics. Shop owners and technicians can choose from a variety of models in order to have a lathe that best suits the volume of business they’re doing and the types of vehicles they’re servicing.
Available are:
• Four styles of bench brake lathes, including high speed, multi-speed, and models for heavy-duty vehicle brake discs and drums; and
• Three styles of on-car brake lathes, including single-speed and multi-speed models.
Other Wheel Service Equipment includes:
• Tire changing equipment; and
• Nitrogen tire filling systems.
