ConocoPhillips Company, the fourth largest U.S. lubricants supplier, recently announced the addition of Kendall GT-1 Full Synthetic SAE 5W-20 Motor Oil to its current Kendall GT-1 passenger car engine oil offerings. The new Kendall GT-1 Full Synthetic 5W-20 motor oil meets or exceeds performance requirements of ILSAC GF-4 and API SM and is recommended for use in Ford, GM, Honda, Mazda, Chrysler, Dodge, Toyota and other vehicles where the automaker specifies a SAE 5W-20 engine oil, according to Steve Tarbox, director of product management, ConocoPhillips Lubricants.
“Long-term engine protection continues to be important for passenger car owners,” said Tarbox. “Kendall GT-1 Full Synthetic 5W-20 provides drivers with performance advantages over conventional engine oils, including improved protection against viscosity breakdown and deposit formation while helping to ensure maximum engine life. In addition, potential cost savings resulting from reduced oil consumption and excellent wear protection make it a great choice for late-model cars.”
Kendall GT-1 Full Synthetic 5W-20 offers the following performance benefits:
- Reaches critical engine parts faster than conventional oils in extreme cold;
- Improved film strength at high temperatures;
- Delivers protection against high-temperature deposits;
- Helps reduce oil consumption; and
- Provides higher protection against viscosity and thermal breakdown at high temperatures for longer “stay-in-grade” protection.
Kendall GT-1 Full Synthetic 5W-20 meets the ILSAC GF-4 fuel economy test requirements, showing significant improvement over SAE 5W-30 and 10W-30 engine oils. Key performance benefits associated with the new Kendall GT-1 Full Synthetic 5W-20 motor oil also include lower volatility and better resistance to oil thickening. Such improvements ensure the oil better withstands the rigorous performance demands of today’s high-tech engines.
