CORSA Performance Helps to Unleash the Cobra’s Wrath in all New Ford Shelby GT 500

The most powerful production Ford Mustang in history is primed to hit the streets with an impressive 500 horsepower. But believe it or not, this muscle machine can be made even more potent by adding a CORSA Performance exhaust system.

CORSA’s 2007 Ford Shelby GT 500 axle-back exhaust system (#14311) pushes the already powerful remake to new heights thanks to its nonrestrictive design and patented Reflective Sound Cancellation (RSC) technology.

The company’s straight-through system allows for a 43 percent gain in exhaust flow versus a stock Shelby system, boosting the vehicle’s already impressive performance by 14 horsepower and 16 lbs./ft. of torque (as independently tested by Livernois Motorsports, Dearborn Heights, MI).

Even more notable than the power gain is the great sound the CORSA exhaust produces. CORSA’s RSC technology allows for a quiet, resonance-free tone at cruising speeds and a full-bodied, aggressive sound during acceleration – perfect for unleashing the Cobra’s wrath.

"Our exhaust system allows the legendary Shelby power to be fully heard and appreciated," said Ed Burgy, automotive product manager, CORSA Performance Exhausts.

Handcrafted from 304-grade stainless steel, the system features polished Pro-Series 4.0-inch tips for an enhanced vehicle appearance. The performance exhaust bolts directly to the factory X-pipe and requires no cutting or welding.

The Ford Shelby exhaust system is backed by a limited lifetime warranty, is 50-state emissions legal, does not void the new vehicle warranty and can be purchased direct from CORSA Performance and through select retailers/distributors nationwide.

Focusing on the development of proprietary technology, CORSA Performance employs patented Reflective Sound Cancellation technology in its performance automotive exhaust systems. CORSA’s 100 percent stainless steel cat-back exhausts are specifically tuned to each vehicle to eliminate passenger cabin resonance and to produce just the right sound. CORSA offers performance exhaust systems and accessories for cars, trucks and SUVs.

This month’s diagnostic journey begins with a 2008 Land Rover Discovery that is taken in to a local testing facility for an emission test and fails due to a series of misfire codes.

Misfire activity is found on cylinders 2, 4, 6, 8 and 3; at first glance this series of codes implies that there may be bank 2 issues, but the cylinder 3 code throws a wrench into that mode of thought.
