Counterstaff and technicians have access to a plethora of product and repair information by logging on to the FRAM, Bendix and Autolite brand websites. Not only are there repair videos and the latest news from the brands, but now the sites feature Honeywell Consumer Products Group’s recently enhanced I-Parts online catalog.

Users can simply log on to www.bendixbrakes.com, www.autolite.com or www.fram.com and click on the “Parts Catalog” or “IParts” icon. The site’s data, which is updated monthly, will list part information for passenger cars and light-duty trucks from model year 1936-2007.

The online catalogs feature application-specific information, installation details, product descriptions and images for a full line of friction material products, oil and air filter technology and spark plugs and wire sets.

Counterstaff and technicians can use the program to enter in the vehicle type – be it a passenger car, or a heavy-duty or light-duty truck – and then year, make and model to secure a list of part numbers for each brand that fit that vehicle by engine type. Or they can conduct a ‘Quick Part Search.’ This feature allows users to enter a FRAM, Autolite or Bendix product part number for a list of the make and model vehicles that part is intended for.

Additional features include a competitive cross reference search, where multiple competitor part numbers can be searched at one time by inserting a comma between each part number. An added benefit is that users don’t need to know if the part number has a dash, period or space.

The catalog also provides product information and PDF files under the “Related Product Info” tab at the bottom of the lookup section. In addition, photos can be obtained by clicking on the part numbers after a vehicle search or a quick part search has been conducted.

In addition to the online versions, which are available by simply logging on to each brands’ websites, Honeywell CPG is offering the 2007 Honeywell Electronic Parts CD Catalog.

With the electronic catalog installed, it works just the same as the online e-cat.

To order a CD, WDs, jobbers, retailers and technicians should contact their local Honeywell CPG sales representative. One CD can be installed on five different computer systems and monthly updates are available via an Internet connection.

Several governors across the country have declared April as Car Care Month in their respective states, urging their residents to be car care aware and perform the service necessary to ensure their vehicles are operating in a safe, efficient and clean manner.
The following governors have issued official state proclamations that April is Car Care Month: Gov. Robert Bentley of Alabama, Gov. John Hickenlooper of Colorado, Gov. Pat Quinn of Illinois, Gov. Peter Shumlin of Vermont and Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin of West Virginia.
“We want to thank these governors for officially proclaiming April as Car Care Month,” said Rich White, executive director, Car Care Council. “Car Care Month provides a unique opportunity for the auto care industry and the government to educate car owners on the importance of proper vehicle care. Motor vehicle safety continues to be a major focus for state legislatures and regulatory agencies across the country, so we commend each of the governors for making these important proclamations.”
Spring is the perfect time for motorists to make sure their vehicles are running reliably after a rough winter and before the summer driving season begins. Many independent repair shops and community organizations throughout the country will conduct car care events during April. The non-profit Car Care Council offers many free tools on its website to help consumers drive smart, save money and be more environmentally friendly, including the popular 60-page Car Care Guide and a custom service schedule and email reminder service.
“By following a service schedule and performing preventative vehicle maintenance, motorists can ensure that their vehicles are safe and dependable.
