Gabriel Ride Control Products Unveils the Next Generation MaxControl Monotube Shock Absorber

The redesign features a new rod guide bearing for smooth and effortless rod movement allowing for greater sensitivity and response.

Gabriel North America, a recognized leader in the aftermarket engineering, announced the introduction of the next generation MaxControl monotube shock to meet the greater performance demands of today’s drivers. The redesign features a new rod guide bearing for smooth and effortless rod movement allowing for greater sensitivity and response. An additional external rod seal was added to the already proven design to further enhance durability for long-lasting performance.

The MaxControl monotube shock for light-trucks and SUVs is based on a 46 mm bore size for a quick response to bumps and other road imperfections providing the smoothest ride possible.  Single tube design and the new multi-stage sealing work to minimize operating temperatures and contamination for longer-lasting performance. Gabriel’s floating piston technology and high-pressure nitrogen charging offers improved handling and performance over conventional twin-tube shocks. Improved sensitivity, response and shock performance helps to keep tires in contact with the road for maximized braking and handling while providing the ride quality today’s consumer desires.

“Gabriel has a long heritage of engineering best-in-class ride control technology that began when we invented the shock absorber over 100 years ago,” said Lisa Bahash, president, Ride Control, LLC.  “We will continue to build on this heritage as we look to offer more technology, products, services and opportunities in the marketplace.”
