Hunter Engineering Company announces its new Quick Tread drive-over tread depth system, which uses point cloud technology to automatically measure the tread depth of each tire without a time loss. The unit detects tread grooves to report up to six measurements per tire.
Results are displayed on the console and also presented on an easy-to-understand printout that recommends tire replacement by showing a 3D model of the customer’s tread.
Hunter’s Quick Tread is much faster than manual inspection and captures accurate tread information on all vehicle traffic. The system also ensures consistency and accuracy by eliminating human error inherent in manual tread depth measurements and manual recording.
Quick Tread is built for a shop environment and features powder-coated stainless steel to resist corrosion.
Driven by Hunter’s WinAlignsoftware, all measurements are processed on-site in seconds. No Internet connection is required to process measurements and there is no recurring monthly charge. Quick Tread also stores all tread depth records to create a customer history for the tire retailer’s marketing efforts. Multiple, easy-to-understand printout options are available for Hunter’s Quick Tread unit to help sell tires.
Available for order later this year, the new drive-over tread depth unit can easily be added to existing Hunter Quick Check systems or installed as a standalone system.
