Over 1,000 companies applied for the 39th annual Franchise 500 ranking, making this year the most competitive ever. The rankings are based on the number of new franchise units added in the United States and Canada from July 2016 to July 2017, as verified by Entrepreneur magazine, with ties broken based on percentage growth. The results were published online by Entrepreneur magazine in connection with Entrepreneur‘s Franchise 500.
