Matco Tools’ new Maximus provides the automotive industry with a unique solutions-based diagnostics and information tablet. Matco recently added the Maximus diagnostic
tablet to its product lineup offering technicians the fastest, most complete
scan tool to handle everything from on-board computer diagnostics to repair,
all without leaving the vehicle.

According to Matco, Maximus provides a true tablet experience, complete with industry-leading features. It is a fully functioning diagnostic tool, capable of everything from pulling codes to diagnosing the most complex problems, while also functioning as a tablet computer with Windows 7 operating system. Technicians can navigate through menus at lightning speed, access repair databases quickly and run multiple applications while diagnosing vehicles. And with easy, one-click Wi-Fi updates, users can always have the most current software in as little as 45 seconds on a
single car line.

“Technology is changing rapidly and technicians expect increased functionality from all of their tools,
whether a wrench or a diagnostic tool,” said John Green, vice president, marketing & e-commerce at Matco Tools. “Maximus provides them with everything they need from code to fix for Asian, European and domestic vehicles, saving time and costs. It’s the total package.”

Matco’s Maximus is designed with features that include a large, 9.7″ In-Panel Switching (IPS) touch screen, built-in camera, VGA and HDMI video out, audio out and multiple USB ports along with Wi-Fi B/G/N and Ethernet. The tablet uses Wi-Fi for Internet and Class 1 Bluetooth to connect to the vehicle for faster, flawless fixes and no-hassle connectivity.

More than just a scan tool, Maximus is also compatible with optional enhancements, including a 4-channel Lab Scope, a Sensor Simulator, J2534 Passthru Device and a Battery Tester, making it a go-to for true, state-of-the-art vehicle diagnostics.

Maximus comes with a rugged outer-case molding and solid state hard drive that offer maximum protection, a built-in battery and docking station, and a 30-day free trial of Direct-Hit from Identifix, which notifies the technician of vehicle-specific repair information and known fixes automatically, right on the screen.

Maximus is available exclusively from Matco Tools. To locate a distributor in your area or for more
