New OTC Tire Pressure Reset Tool With EZ-Sensor Programming is an All-In-One TPMS Service Solution

New OTC Tire Pressure Reset Tool With EZ-Sensor Programming is an All-In-One TPMS Service Solution

The programmable TPMS sensor from Schrader will replace more than 90 percent of OE TPMS sensors; and delivers simplicity, ease of installation and better profit potential to TPMS service.

OTC, an SPX Brand, recently introduced its TPMS Tire Pressure Reset (TPR) tool with EZ-sensor Programming (P/N 3834EZ), a brand new TPMS reset and programming tool that can eliminate the need to perform relearn procedures when replacing OE TPMS sensors. The fast and easy-to-use EZ-sensor programming tool delivers a game-changing advancement in TPMS service, that will replace 90 percent of the TPMS sensors currently stocked by the dealer, while offering simplicity, ease of installation and better profit potential to TPMS service.

"Until now, the TPMS service/repair process has been growing more and more complex, with competing sensor standards and complicated, time consuming relearn procedures," said Andy Forsberg, product manager of electronics at SPX Service Solutions. "The OTC 3834EZ further streamlines the TPMS service/repair process and serves as a much-needed solution to the ease-of-use and efficiency issues that have made TPMS servicing a challenge for the aftermarket sector."

Unlike many other TPMS reset and reprogramming tools, the OTC 3834EZ will allow a technician to replace broken or damaged sensors without having to struggle through complex relearn procedures, enabling technicians to work faster and more efficiently. It can program EZ-sensors to replace OE sensors across diverse car makes and models, and features a fast and simple method for diagnosing TPMS problems.

According to Schrader, the EZ-sensor will cover more than 90 percent of domestic and imported vehicles including a broad range of cars, vans, SUVs, crossovers and light trucks through 2011 model year. Furthermore, parts stores can also substantially reduce the number of SKUs required to provide full TPMS coverage.

"Currently, there are approximately 150 SKUs of tire sensors fitted to North American vehicles equipped with TPMS, making the repair task even more complex," Forsberg reports. "Repair shops may have money tied up in inventory for sensors that are rarely used or experience long delays in the service bay waiting for the right sensor to be delivered. The EZ-sensor will cover more than 90 percent of TPMS-enabled vehicles in the U.S., thus dramatically reducing the costs of inventory, and avoiding those lost sales."

The 3834EZ TPR tool features a bright graphic display and simple navigation buttons that enable vehicle selection for fast activation — it automatically adjusts activation output power to eliminate cross activation of near sensors. The tool set features a TPR handheld tool, EZ-sensor Proximity boot, EZ-sensor software, carrying case, USB cable, and user manual.  The kit also includes six months of updates to add even more coverage.

Technicians who already own the award winning OTC TPR tool can easily upgrade with the EZ-sensor Update Kit (3834EZ-01). The kit is equipped with the EZ-sensor Proximity boot, EZ-sensor software, USB cable, user manual, and six months of included updates.
