Red Kap is launching a video series, The Craftsman, to profile custom builders who embody the brand’s values of heritage, craftsmanship and passion. The short, high-energy videos will each showcase a different builder, sharing their stories and showcasing their custom vehicles.
“Red Kap’s Craftsman series was developed to celebrate individuals that have a passion for building and follow those dreams to build, whether they are an expert or novice craftsman,” said Chris Holcombe, vice president and general manager of distributor brands for Red Kap.
Heath Pinter, a professional BMX rider, X Games champion and classic car builder, is the first to sign on with the series. Pinter built Red Kap’s featured vehicle at the 2014 SEMA Show, a 1950 3-window Chevy truck. His latest project is a 1928 Roadster that will be publicly unveiled at the Race of Gentlemen in October. Pinter’s profile will appear two weeks before the Race of Gentlemen, schedule Oct. 2-4, according to Red Kap.
Matt Harris of 40 Cal Customs is the second builder to be added to the growing stable of Red Kap Craftsmen. Harris first burst onto the custom bike scene when he appeared on Discovery Channel’s Bike Live TV show. Harris won the show’s viewer poll, marking his introduction into the ranks of elite custom bike builders.
Red Kap will continue to add more Craftsmen to this program in the months ahead. Each will be chosen based on authentic character, style and commitment to his work. The Craftsmen series of videos will be rolling out beginning in August 2015.
