Redline Detection has announced that they will be the naming sponsor of a top NHRA Dragster.
“We are thrilled to sponsor this incredible car and this fantastic team,” said Alex Parker of Redline Detection. “Our PowerSmoke PRO is being used by race teams in innovative ways to improve performance and increase speed. NHRA Drag Racing is the fastest sport on the planet. An NHRA dragster can accelerate to over 300 mph in under 4 seconds.”
PowerSmoke PRO diagnostic leak detection equipment is both high pressure and variable pressure. Specifically engineered to test the integrity of turbo- boosted, high-pressure systems in one quick procedure, with the engine safely off, it can locate minute faults and failing components before they fail.
The Redline Detection 1962 Bubbletop Belair Race Car will run in both Super Gas and Super Comp A Classes. The car was built by Tom Yancer Race Cars and is a full chrome moly tube chassis build, with a fiberglass and carbon fiber body. The engine, built by Larry Marshall, is a 565 cubic inch big block Chevy with over 1,000 hp. Under full throttle, a dragster engine consumes 11.2 gallons of nitro methane per second, the same burn rate that a fully loaded 747 consumes jet fuel.
Driver David Ruff said, “I’ve been blown away by Redline’s new high pressure diagnostic technology, this tool is a big advantage for racing and would be a huge asset working on boosted cars or diesel trucks. Redline is a fantastic new member of the NHRA drag racing family and we are going to have an awesome season with their support.”
Ruff has competed in all of the sportsman “Super” classes of the NHRA in both divisions 3 and now division 7. The Redline Detection 1962 Bubbletop Belair Race Car Team will compete in Division 7 of the NHRA Lucas Oil Series this year with races throughout the western U.S.
