Rislone Transmission Stabilizer with Stop Slip contains a special blend of viscosity improvers, anti-wear friction modifiers and extreme pressure performance additives to solve most transmission problems. These additives work together to reduce rough shifting and friction while eliminating slip, controlling temperature, and repairing shudder, chatter and whining in all light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles.

“Automatic transmission fluid is one of the most complex of all vehicle lubrication fluids,” says Clay Parks, vice president of development for Bar’s Products, manufacturer of Rislone. “It has to balance how much friction it allows in order to reduce wear and control temperature, while at the same time preventing the internal clutch material from slipping. Plus, the fluid must operate at both low and high temperature extremes. Our new Rislone Transmission Stabilizer’s premium formula renews and stabilizes the transmission fluid, restoring transmission performance and preventing costly transmission/transaxle repairs. It’s good for preventive maintenance and is the perfect additive for poorly maintained transmissions.”

Rislone Transmission Stabilizer restores bands and clutches to stop slip, eliminate hesitation and reduce rough shifting. It also stops fluid loss and reduces friction and wear to protect internal components. By lowering the operating temperature, it helps to combat the top cause of transmission failure: heat.

Rislone Transmission Stabilizer is compatible with all types of domestic and import transmission fluid, including petroleum and synthetic formulas. It works with any front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, all-wheel drive and four-wheel drive transmission, including three-speed, four-speed, five-speed, electronic, overdrive, automatic or manual models. Use it to top off the system or add a bottle when changing fluid. One 32 oz. bottle treats 12 to 16 quarts.

Rislone Transmission Stabilizer with Stop Slip is part of the new Rislone stabilizer line. These products restore vehicle fluids with performance additives and detergents to improve high-mileage vehicle performance. Other products in the line are Rislone Power Steering Stabilizer with Stop Leak and Rislone Oil Stabilizer with Engine Treatment.

Rislone Transmission Stabilizer with Stop Slip (part number 4502) is available in case packs of six. For more information about Rislone Transmission Stabilizer or other Rislone products, call (800) 521-7475, e-mail [email protected] or visit the website at www.rislone.com.

Pulling Codes: Multiple Misfire Personalities

A vehicle fails an emission test due to a series of codes, with misfire activity found on cylinders 2, 4, 6, 8 and 3 – and a strange metallic sound can be heard when the rpms are raised. See how Carlton Banks solves this latest Pulling Codes case.

A Story of Codes P0302, 04, 06, 08 & 03

This month’s diagnostic journey begins with a 2008 Land Rover Discovery that is taken in to a local testing facility for an emission test and fails due to a series of misfire codes.

Misfire activity is found on cylinders 2, 4, 6, 8 and 3; at first glance this series of codes implies that there may be bank 2 issues, but the cylinder 3 code throws a wrench into that mode of thought.
