A technician in Perth, Australia was recently accused of taking a customer’s 2006 yellow Lamborghini Gallardo on a testdrive that reached speeds of close to 100 mph. According to perthnow.com.au, the technician, 53-year-old Leone Magistro, has been charged with reckless driving. The vehicle was impounded by police after being clocked at 160 km/h. The vehicle was impounded because the Police Minister said it was the responsibility of the vehicle owner to ensure that they new and trusted who was driving their car.

Leone Magistro, 53, appeared in Perth Magistrates Court today accused of reckless driving.

Police will allege  they clocked the $200,000 high performance car speeding along Reid Highway, near Wanneroo Road, in Balcatta.

The vehicle was impounded for 28 days and is due to be released tomorrow – despite its owner not being behind the wheel when police intercepted it.

Mr Magistro’s lawyer David Manera requested an adjournment from Magistrate Steven Heath, saying there had been no disclosure from police.
