Industries (JDI) recently announced that two more
products in its Fuel Chief gas caddy line have achieved UL Listing status. With
the addition of the FC-P30-UL and the FC-P30A-UL units, JDI says it continues
to be the only manufacturer with UL Listings for gas caddies, making these
units the “industry standard.”
The UL certification comes from the
Underwriter’s Laboratories National Safety Testing Agency for the U.S., acting
as a partner with manufacturers to provide safe products to consumers through
testing, certification and follow-up audits.
Fuel Chief’s two 30-gallon caddies have
been redesigned with the professional technician in mind. They are UL-listed
professional units for the portable fuel storage and handling of gasoline,
kerosene and diesel fuels. The FC-P30 includes a manual pump while the FC-P30A
uses an air operated pump to siphon fuel to and from the vehicle being
serviced.
Features for both units include:
Cart style design for easy portability
and use;
New molded front plastic panel cover;
Redesigned front enclosure for
improved stability and utility;
Upgraded rear wheels with manual brake
mechanism;
Four-way control valve to select the
flow;
New UL listed hoses and couplings; and
Vacuum breaker to prevent back
siphoning.
Under OSHA regulation 29 CFR 1910.106,
approved equipment must be tested, certified and listed by a national testing
laboratory. This regulation makes it “the employer’s responsibility to protect
its employees from workplace hazards by providing appropriate methods of hazard
control.” The FC-P30-UL and the FC-P30A-UL more than satisfy this
regulation, according to JDI.
