The owners of Perfection Automotive and Chris’ Auto Repair reported that between $30,000 and $40,000 worth of tools and equipment were taken from each of their repair shops. Each owner is offering a $2,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the thieves.
From the Argus Leader website:
Mike Kramer knew something was wrong when he came into his auto repair shop on Tuesday morning.
“There was stuff scattered everywhere,” he said. “They cleaned us out pretty good.”
Kramer’s shop, Perfection Automotive, is the second auto shop to be burglarized in the past week. Just a few blocks away down Harlem Avenue, another shop was broken into last Tuesday night.
Chris Rieger, owner of Chris’ Auto Repair, walked into his shop last week to a scene very similar to Kramer’s. Hand tools, scanner equipment and computers were gone.
“When I walked in, I was crushed,” Rieger said. “(They took) pretty much everything I have to make a living.”
Both Rieger and Kramer reported that between $30,000 and $40,000 worth of equipment had been taken from each of their shops. Neither have ever had a break-in before.
