OTC, an SPX Brand, recently unveiled its new Universal Hub Puller HD with Plate (P/N 6574), specifically designed to offer professional technicians complete capability for servicing wheel hubs, axle shafts and other tough pulling applications. This rugged hub puller is well suited for pushing the drive axle out of the wheel hub center, or pulling the hub off of the drive axle.

"Any technician that has ever run across an axle frozen into a hub or similar will benefit from this tool," said Rob Kochie, SPX Service Solutions product manager of equipment and heavy-duty tools. "Applying heat or directly striking the axle and or hub components typically results in damage and requires replacement. This tool will eliminate that damage along with saving time and money of replacement."
 
Positioning the hub puller is made easy thanks to its adjustable sliding puller legs that can be positioned anywhere on the puller center hub for a true universal fit on wheel hubs with five- to eight-inch bolt circles. Furthermore, the pulling plate allows for quick attachment and an even pull on the popular five bolt hubs with four- to five-inch bolt circle range. Combined, this puller has the capability of four- to eight-inch bolt circles.
 
OTC’s new Universal Hub Puller delivers up to 20 tons of pressing power with a straight-forward design. Forged puller assembly coupled with a one-inch drive screw applies large force without damaging components and is approved for use with an impact gun and can be struck with a hammer. Additional puller legs may be added to the center hub for special applications.
