Technician Going to Jail for Issuing Fraudulent Smog Certificates
Thanh Dang, a technician at Atherton Smog in Menlo Park, CA, has pleaded no contest to charges of issuing fraudulent smog certificates for more than 100 vehicles. Court records show that motorists paid $150 instead of the normal fee of $80. Dang used the extra $70 to pay gambling debts.
