In addition to daily operator inspections, the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) recommends that all vehicle lifts be inspected by a qualified lift inspector at least annually, “to ensure reliability and the continued safe operation of the lift.”
Phony ALI Approvals Showing Up on Lifts
The Automotive Lift Institute has found counterfeit lifts being sold in the U.K. and warn that more such cases are popping up in the U.S. and Canada. The U.K. lifts in question carry a phony ALI approval mark, but in fact have never been examined, tested or approved, ALI said.
