Skinning aluminum doors and working on non-structure quarter panels requires technicians to use hand steel tools that when used on aluminum isolate the striking components to protect from galvanic corrosion, but also require the removal and installation of eight SPRs (self-piercing rivets) as well as replacing the aluminum skin with a rope hem as part of the repair process.
