Buying a high quality air compressor is an investment. Used daily to power air tools, the machine should be built to last a lifetime and offer the features needed to ensure dependable performance. To meet the needs of even the most discerning technicians and shops, Snap-on Tools has developed and introduced its 5-HP single stage air compressor (BRAC560V) for small shops, home garage use or as a back-up shop compressor.

The machine’s single cast iron pump with aluminum head is durable and allows for better cooling, increasing its efficiency and longevity. Adding to the unit’s efficiency is the compressor’s flywheel with an integrated fan, which enables cooler operation.

Snap-on’s air compressor is easy to maintain and service with its glass oil level indicator and service drain. Its 5-HP, 3450 RPM motor rated at a low 20 amps also makes it ideal for low-amp and continuous duty applications. The machine also features a one-way, pump-head pressure unload valve to relieve tank back pressure on the head, reducing the energy needed on start-up.

Built to last, Snap-on’s single stage air compressor has stainless steel reed valves and a 60-gallon, powder-coated tank – built to American Society of Mechanical Engineers (AMSE) standards – that resist rust and corrosion. The unit’s heavy-duty tank base with rubber vibration isolation pads provides a large footprint, reducing vibration and compressor walk.

In the shop or at home, safety is always top of mind. The air compressor features an automatic on/off pressure switch and a high-pressure safety valve and tank gauge, which relieves tank pressure should an overfill occur. In addition, the HD extruded steel fan and drive line cage protects the user while providing efficient air flow.
