Fire Destroys Helena, MT, Repair Shop

A fire on Tuesday destroyed Hazen Auto Repair & Custom Exhaust in Helena, MT. When firefighters arrived, employees were busy removing items from the shop. According to a news report, an employee was working on a vehicle in the shop when the fire started.

Franchitti Earns $2.47 Million for Winning 96th Indy 500

Dario Franchitti earned $2.47 million from an overall purse of more than $13 million for his victory on Sunday in the 96th Indianapolis 500. The Scotland native became just the 10th driver to win “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” at least three times. He also won in 2007 and 2010.

Steve Letarte, crew chief for Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the No. 88 National Guard – An American Salute/Diet Mountain Dew Chevrolet, received Federal-Mogul’s MOOG “Problem Solver of the Race” Award after the 88 car posted its seventh top-10 finish in eight races in Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Charlotte (NC) Motor Speedway. The No. 88 team, which had just 12 top-10s in all of 2011, stands fourth overall in Sprint Cup points.
