CARS 2007 Early-Bird Registration Ends Sept. 20

The "early-bird" registration deadline for the Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) is Sept. 20. Members and nonmembers who register for the full CARS package can take advantage of significant savings. CARS 2007, sponsored by the Automotive Service Association (ASA), will be held Nov. 1-3 at the Flamingo Las Vegas.

California Warranty Standards Proposed in New Mexico

New Mexico, under a general order from Gov. Bill Richardson, is moving to adopt the California Clean Car standards. The New Mexico Department of the Environment has proposed standards that, if passed, would implement the California vehicle emission standards – including the super warranty. The proposal directs the state to implement global warming and smog-forming emissions standards for vehicles. Additionally, the bill would impose the expansion and extension of warranties.

New Website Offers Parts Ordering Directly from Toyota Dealerships

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. has announced the launch of its newly enhanced Toyota Wholesale Parts website which now allows repair shops to order "Toyota Fast Moving Parts" online, directly from their designated Toyota dealer. Toyota launched the Wholesale Parts site in 2005.

ASA Announces CARS 2007 Dates and Location

The Automotive Service Association (ASA) has announced that the 2007 Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) will be held Nov. 1-3 at the Flamingo Las Vegas. Spring 2007 ASE Certification Testing Schedule Announced

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) will offer its full complement of 40-plus certification tests for repair professionals and parts specialists this Spring over the course of three evenings on May 8, 10 and 15, 2007. The tests will be given at approximately 750 locations throughout the United States and Canada. The registration deadline is March 31, 2007.
