Bosch Expands QuietCast Disc Brake Rotor Line

Bosch has announced the expansion of its line of premium QuietCast brake rotors. Bosch estimates that the addition of 215 new part numbers will increase coverage to 95 percent of all vehicles in operation (VIO) and includes many late-model applications. Currently, one out of every three vehicles on the road in North America – Domestic, Asian and European – use Bosch braking components, according to the company.

Bosch Offers Eco-Friendly, Copper-Free Brake Pads

In response to legislation requiring the reduction of copper in friction formulations, Bosch has announced the use of its first copper-free ceramic material in the premium-grade QuietCast line of braking products. The Bosch Braking Components print catalog for 2014 (No. 2213922) provides a comprehensive listing of all of the company’s friction lines for domestic, Asian and European vehicles in the United States and Canada. Bosch Introduces New Start-Stop System With Coasting Mode

With its new start-stop coasting function, Bosch enables drivers of vehicles with combustion engines to travel in zero-emission, noise-free and low-resistance mode over large parts of their journey. This new technology stops the engine when the vehicle is in motion, so that it does not consume any fuel. Whenever the vehicle can maintain its speed simply by rolling – for instance on a gentle incline – the engine is stopped. As soon as the driver touches the gas or brake pedal, the engine starts up again.
