It’s
been seven years since Ranger Products first introduced its
full line of toolboxes to the marketplace, and the company says they’re better
than ever.
“When
we first started developing our toolboxes, we were sure that there was a market
for top-quality tool storage at a reasonable price,” said Senior Sales &
Marketing VP Jeff Kritzer. “We could observe essentially two types: overpriced,
well-established brands with die-hard believers that didn’t care about cost,
and lower-end, mass-merchandised stuff that nobody expected to last long.”
But both
Ranger Products and parent brand BendPak have a history of upsetting the usual
automotive aftermarket dynamic. In 2003, BendPak / Ranger released a series of
toolboxes that were built to the same or better specifications as the big
brands, but sold for a significantly lower price.
“We wanted
to give our customers quality equal to, and even better than, traditional
professional brands, but without the high pricing,” said Kritzer. “Lucky for
our customers, we don’t spend millions on motorsports. That kind of frugal
spending translates into big savings.”
But that
doesn’t make Ranger a discount brand either. Kritzer clarifies, “Our boxes are
pit against the so-called industry best every day in garages and shops across
the world. And for value, quality and construction, our customers let us know
that we come out on top.”
According
to the Ranger Products website, Ranger toolboxes and
tool chests feature high-grade 16 and 18-guage steel, internal cages, top-notch
hardware and a protective red finish. Finger release locks, ball bearing drawer
slides, “Lok-Latch” tool chest drawer latch and key-lock rear pivot locking
system make the toolbox immune to bolt cutters and hacksaws. Each drawer comes
with padded rubber drawer liners to protect valuable tools and equipment.
Ranger
Products currently offers seven different tool storage solutions of varying
size and capacity, many of which are designed to stack together and “grow with
your garage.”
“We set out
to create tool storage solutions for hobbyists, professionals and your average
Joe who just needs a place to keep his tools,” said Kritzer. “Usually, trying to
appeal to everyone is a recipe for failure. But here we are seven years later
with seven great toolboxes. It looks like it worked out this time.”
