Easier and
faster to use, the new Snap-on Injector Puller Kit (IPK1170) for GM LB7 Duramax
engines is a “must have” for removing the sleeve from the injector without
causing damage. According to the company, this time-saving kit will be an
instant productivity enhancer for Snap-on customers working on GM light and
medium trucks.
“Our
new IPK1170 pulls the injector straight out of the full length of the nozzle
tip without rocking which reduces the possibility of unwanted sleeve removal,
saving service technicians a significant amount of time when performing this
task,” said Scott Amundson, product manager for Snap-on. “If a sleeve does come out, the forked tool
on the puller can be used to gently remove the sleeve from the injector without
damage. Thus the sleeve can still be reused, saving both time and money.”
The Snap-on Injector Puller Kit
(IPK1170) is designed to remove the diesel injectors
from GM vehicles produced from 2001 to 2004 with an LB7 Duramax
engine. These engines are found in light duty 2500/3500 and medium duty
4500/5500 GM trucks. Over time and miles, the injectors become heavily coated with
carbon between the tip and sleeve causing them to stick together, making them
difficult to remove.
