Talon-USA has just expanded its popular line of air-tuned performance towing suspensions with a kit designed specifically for Dodge model 3/4-ton and 1-ton pickup trucks.

Talon-USA, a manufacturer of truck air ride suspension systems, has expanded its popular line of air-tuned performance towing suspensions with a kit designed specifically for Dodge model 3/4-ton and 1-ton pickup trucks. Talon recently unveiled the new truck air suspension kit at the 2006 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Marketing Association) show in Las Vegas, where the system won rave reviews for its state-of-the-art patented linkage, which provides superior handling and a smooth ride, even when the truck is empty.

The new Talon-USA truck air suspension kits fit the Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500, including 4×4 and 2WD, dually, and SRW drive. Kits are available for model years 1997-2002, and 2003 and newer. The Dodge air suspension kit follows the June 2006 release of Talon-USA’s Ford Super Duty air suspension kit. A kit for the Dodge Ram Chassis Cab is scheduled for release in early 2007.

Matt Middlebrook, president of Talon-USA said, "The Dodge kit is special for us. So many of our customers love the Dodge power train advantages when towing, but have told us they are disappointed with the harsh ride, especially when it’s empty. We are thrilled to put the Talon-USA technology to work for this critical application. Being a Dodge owner myself, this suspension is the key to getting the most enjoyment out of this great truck."

Talon-USA, first launched in May 2006, has quickly earned the trust of serious, heavy-duty drivers, including racing, RV and equestrian enthusiasts. The Talon-USA air bag suspension kit includes premium features specifically designed for towing large, heavy trailers, while providing superior handling and a smooth ride, even when the trailer is empty.

The patented Talon-USA air suspension system replaces the stock leaf spring suspension on 3/4-ton and 1-ton trucks using a trailing arm/lever arm design. The design controls the axle wind-up, bucking, sway and axle hop that is often experienced when towing with a stock leaf spring suspension.

"This design was forged through years of development and prototyping to yield a superior suspension for towing," says Fred Boylen Jr, VP of marketing and sales for Talon-USA. "Ours is the only system that addresses the suspension input for all four wheels and integrates the helpful assist features like auto-leveling and precision kneeling control."

Other standard features on the Talon-USA system include easy-to-operate in-cab controls, including a backlit system air pressure gauge and low pressure warning light, and a powerful anti-drive feature for precision braking.

The Talon-USA system is an inclusive towing package. Each kit contains everything needed for installation, including the patented linkage system, premium air springs, 12v compressor, air reservoirs, rear tuning shocks, front matched shocks, air circuit, mounting hardware, wiring and auto-leveling kit.

"We purposely kept the options to a minimum because everything in the kit works together as a system. We didn’t want to get complaints about ride or only partially addressing the truck owner’s needs, like other replacement suspension products," said Middlebrook.

The kits, which are sold and installed by authorized dealers, feature easy installation, with no holes to drill and no welding or cutting. The system is supported by suspension experts, built by USA craftsmen, and is backed by the best five-year limited warranty in the business.

This month’s diagnostic journey begins with a 2008 Land Rover Discovery that is taken in to a local testing facility for an emission test and fails due to a series of misfire codes.

Misfire activity is found on cylinders 2, 4, 6, 8 and 3; at first glance this series of codes implies that there may be bank 2 issues, but the cylinder 3 code throws a wrench into that mode of thought.
