There’s no better time to give your customers the bird – the Thrush Woodpecker – than during this special incentive period from one of the most recognizable and loved classic American aftermarket brands, Thrush Exhaust. The brand’s classic mufflers and instantly recognizable “Woodpecker” logo have been making hot rods hotter since 1966.

“Just when hot rods were turning into something big, Thrush was there with its Glasspack muffler in ’66. There is no mistaking the bright-red, straight-pipe muffler and the unique Thrush ‘Woodpecker’ icon,” said Bill Shutt, Thrush product manager, Tenneco. “Now, you can turn your exhaust sales into something just as hot with our brand-new pallet display and promotion. We’re committed to helping drive demand for vintage enthusiast automotive products.”

Available now, the Thrush 1/4-pallet displays are available in two styles – one includes 20 assorted Thrush Welded mufflers (p/n 99917) and one includes 18 assorted Thrush Glasspack mufflers (p/n 99918). For a limited time, Thrush will back the full-color, in-store merchandisers with a free t-shirt promotion: if your customers buy a Thrush muffler off of the showroom display, they’ll receive a free Thrush t-shirt.

The Thrush Welded muffler display includes an assortment of ten 2-1/4-in. side inlet and center outlet and ten 2-1/2-in. side inlet and center outlet 4-in. by 9-1/2-in.-sized universal mufflers. Applicable for a wide range of popular domestic and import applications, the two-chamber Thrush Welded mufflers are 100-percent welded for extended durability and wear. Featuring improved exhaust flow and a deep, aggressive tone, the Thrush Welded mufflers have been proven to outflow competitive products.

The Thrush Glasspack pallet assortment includes five 2-in. inlet/outlet 25-in. length, five 2-1/4-in. inlet/outlet 25-in. length, and eight 2-1/2-in. 28-in. length universal mufflers. Combining the classic sound and power of the original, today’s Glasspacks are made from a heavy-gauge powder-coated shell and feature a straight-through perforated tube for minimal turbulence and smooth flow.

Several governors across the country have declared April as Car Care Month in their respective states, urging their residents to be car care aware and perform the service necessary to ensure their vehicles are operating in a safe, efficient and clean manner.
The following governors have issued official state proclamations that April is Car Care Month: Gov. Robert Bentley of Alabama, Gov. John Hickenlooper of Colorado, Gov. Pat Quinn of Illinois, Gov. Peter Shumlin of Vermont and Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin of West Virginia.
“We want to thank these governors for officially proclaiming April as Car Care Month,” said Rich White, executive director, Car Care Council. “Car Care Month provides a unique opportunity for the auto care industry and the government to educate car owners on the importance of proper vehicle care. Motor vehicle safety continues to be a major focus for state legislatures and regulatory agencies across the country, so we commend each of the governors for making these important proclamations.”
Spring is the perfect time for motorists to make sure their vehicles are running reliably after a rough winter and before the summer driving season begins. Many independent repair shops and community organizations throughout the country will conduct car care events during April. These events have revealed that three out of four vehicles inspected are in need of some type of maintenance or repair.
The non-profit Car Care Council offers many free tools on its website to help consumers drive smart, save money and be more environmentally friendly, including the popular 60-page Car Care Guide and a custom service schedule and email reminder service.
“By following a service schedule and performing preventative vehicle maintenance, motorists can ensure that their vehicles are safe and dependable. Plus, auto care can help save money in many ways, including reducing fuel consumption and extending vehicle life,” continued White. “We encourage all car owners across the country to get their vehicles inspected this April.”
