Weldcraft and Miller Electric Mfg. Co. have joined efforts to provide total TIG welding packages to meet the needs of both low and high amperage applications. To date, the two companies, both located in Appleton, WI, and subsidiaries of Illinois Tool Works (ITW), have released three integrated TIG torch/power source packages throughout the United States. These packages feature Weldcraft’s Crafter Series and WP Series of TIG torches, along with select Miller Syncrowave and Dynasty models. Throughout 2006, the companies will continue releasing more integrated TIG welding packages.

Quality Integration, Quality Performance
Weldcraft’s WP-20 water-cooled TIG torch, with its compact, durable and lightweight design, improves welding on applications with limited access or tight joints, and is now paired with Miller’s Syncrowave 250 DX and Dynasty 300.

The WP-20 torch has a rated output of 250 amps and features an efficient around-the-head cooling design that, coupled with the Syncrowave 250 DX’s squarewave technology and the Dynasty 300’s inverter based AC/DC capabilities, increases performance and reduces weld discontinuities. Providing 250 amps and 30V at 40 percent duty cycle and featuring Miller’s patented Lift-Arc technology, both power sources eliminate the need for high-frequency starts and help improve arc starting and control.

To speed power source hookups and avoid operator confusion, Weldcraft offers exclusive WP-20 torch designs — including tri-colored hoses for gas, water and power and attached international style connectors — for both the Syncrowave 250 DX and Dynasty 300. The WP-20 comes front-end loaded, featuring a collet, collet body, nozzle, long back cap and 3/32 ceriated tungsten.

Combining Weldcraft’s CS310 water-cooled torch with Miller’s Syncrowave 350 LX increases reliability on higher amperage applications. Engineered for the professional welder, the CS310’s compact design improves handling for a variety of applications, while the Syncrowave 350 LX offers an optional integrated water cooler to prevent torch damage due to overheating.

The CS310’s D-handle offers a self-indexing flat top to help operators orient the torch by feel and complements the Syncrowave 350 LX’s Syncro Start technology — a feature that improves torch control and allows operators to customize their application according to tungsten diameter and material thickness. The ColorSmart color-coded hoses featured on the CS310 also help welding operators quickly identify input water (blue hose), return water/power cable (red hose) and gas (black hose) to provide more efficient torch package installation on the Syncrowave 350 LX. Like the WP-20, the CS310 also comes front end loaded.
