Winners of NASCAR Craftsman Wrenchman Award Announced

Craftsman and NASCAR teamed up to recognize the behind-the-scenes team members from each of the three national NASCAR Touring Series who turn the wrenches, but rarely get the recognition they deserve.

Craftsman, the official tools of NASCAR, and NASCAR teamed up to recognize the behind-the-scenes team members from each of the three national NASCAR Touring Series who “turn the wrenches” in the shop and along pit row, but rarely get the recognition they deserve. Winners from each series were announced at the Wrenchman Award Ceremony in Miami Nov. 20-22.

The NASCAR Craftsman Wrenchman Award Winners include:

Andrew Mason, shop foreman, Richard Childress Racing #29, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series;
Andrew Mason
Ramie Jones, team engineer, Braun Racing #32, NASCAR Nationwide Series;
Ramie Jones
Bob Rahilly, truck chief, Jim Rosenblum Racing #28, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
Bob Rahilly
All NASCAR teams from the three NASCAR Touring Series nominated one crew member for the award based on the core attributes of trust, quality, knowledge and innovation when performing their job. All crew members, whether they work in the race shop or travel with the teams to the race track, were eligible.

Each unsung hero turns wrenches and exemplifies those core attributes. The winner from the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series was chosen by online fan voting. From September 20 through October 17, fans logged onto Craftsman.com and viewed full profiles and accomplishments of eight NASCAR Sprint Cup Series finalists and voted for their favorite.

Winners from the NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series were selected by a committee.
The NASCAR Craftsman Wrenchman Award winners received a cash prize of $14,000 and $10,000 worth of Craftsman tools. At the Wrenchman Award Ceremony in Miami, the winners were also rewarded with a specially designed two-foot trophy in the shape of a wrench.
