The next A-Plus Network EcoLean Level 1 workshop from Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes will be held April 30 and May 1 at the Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) facility near Charlotte, N.C.

Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) is one of the premier organizations in NASCAR, currently fielding three NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams, four NASCAR Nationwide Series teams and a driver development program. Its driver lineup consists of Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth in the Sprint Cup Series and is owned by Joe Gibbs – a three-time Super Bowl winner as head coach of the Washington Redskins and a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

JGR has competed in NASCAR since 1992, winning three Cup Series championships and four Nationwide Series owner’s championships, along with more than 175 NASCAR races, including three Brickyard 400s and a Daytona 500.

These Sherwin-Williams exclusive EcoLean Level 1 workshops are designed to educate attendees about maximizing profitability by improving productivity and eliminating waste throughout their facilities. The program is offered to collision center owners and dealer managers from across the United States and Canada.

“The EcoLean curriculum was developed specifically with collision shop operators in mind. This upcoming Charlotte workshop, held on site at a NASCAR championship team’s headquarters, allows attendees to really see lean production in action,” says Troy Neuerburg, manager of marketing business services at Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes. “Through it they will learn practical processes and useful tips on lean production’s application in collision repair and methods to make their collision shops more efficient, productive and subsequently more profitable.”

Neuerburg says the Charlotte program also seeks to educate shop owners about the fact that environmentally sound business decisions go hand-in-hand with reduction of excessive and duplicative procedures and environmental waste.

“Attendees will leave the two-day event with tangible tools to immediately increase the quality and production output of their businesses,” Neuerburg says. In particular, the EcoLean 1 workshop curriculum includes:

• Principles of reducing environmental waste

• An overview of lean production, and its practical application in collision repair

• Approaches to making the collision facility more efficient and consistent

• How to build a lean culture from the ground up
