Babcox Media announces the release of AVI PLAY, the Augmented Reality (AR) App that allows smart phone and tablet users the ability to unlock valuable technical and training content from the pages of its print magazines.

Beginning with the March issues of Brake & Front End, ImportCar and Underhood Service magazine, AVI PLAY will provide the user with digital content in the form of videos, demonstrations or moving 3D programs.

“We feel that leveraging digital media to complement our print products is the best way to bring more value to you — our loyal subscribers,” said Jim Merle, publisher of Babcox Media’s Tech Group publications.

“Through our AVI PLAY App, we can provide demos from advertisers, trainers and other technicians to give the reader a better understanding of a component, topic or repair,” explained Paul Louwers, AVI president.

“This is not just a one-time occurrence with this issue. The editorial staff is committed to educating our readers on how to use this new technology and pledges to bring fresh, bonus content in each subsequent issue of these magazines,” said Merle.

Technical features and advertisements in the magazines that have AR content powered by AVI PLAY are branded with an AVI PLAY App logo for easy identification.
