Shell Lubricants was recently named the recipient of Advance Auto Parts’ 2012 Superior Availability and Supply Chain Excellence Vendor of the Year Award, which recognizes suppliers that deliver top line sales performance. The accolade was given at the Advance vendor awards ceremony at The Homestead in Hot Springs, Va.

“It is an honor for Shell Lubricants to be recognized by Advance Auto Parts, as it is validation for our efforts to excel in efforts to work with our customers,” said Istvan Kapitany, president of Shell Commercial Fuels and Lubricants Americas. "This award highlights our collective actions in providing merchandising solutions excellence for serving Advance Auto Parts, while demonstrating customer service skills that exceed expectations.”

The award recognized the Shell team for working to improve two-way communication between the customer and Shell in a manner that improved forecast accuracy, and allowed the LSC to significantly improve on-time, in-full delivery.

Throughout the year, Shell Lubricants worked to establish new systems that led to improved supply chain performance, as well as ongoing collaboration to forecast incremental promotional rotations to meet the demands of its customers.

"We congratulate Shell Lubricants on receiving this award," said Kevin Dempsey, vice president of Advance Auto Parts Merchandising and Global Sourcing.
