Ingersoll Rand Unveils New 118MAX and 122MAX Vibration-Reduced Air Hammers

Ingersoll Rand has expanded their MAX family of air tools with the all new 118MAX Long Barrel and 122MAX Short Barrel Air Hammers.

Ingersoll Rand, a global leader in vehicle service tools and equipment, has expanded their MAX family of air tools with the all new 118MAX Long Barrel and 122MAX Short Barrel Air Hammers.

In keeping with the tradition of Ingersoll Rand MAX tools, the 118MAX and 122MAX vibration-reduced air hammers are designed to deliver best-in-class comfort, power, and productivity to help technicians handle even the most challenging material prep and fabrication jobs.

“Ingersoll Rand is excited to introduce the 118MAX and 122MAX vibration-reduced air hammers to the MAX family lineup,” said Nate Schmid, marketing manager for Vehicle Services with Ingersoll Rand. “There’s a lot of innovation built into the new MAX air hammers, and the increased power coupled with significantly reduced vibration and noise during operation is definitely going to change the way technicians work.”

Recently announced at a tool dealer expo in Orlando, FL, the new air hammers feature a patented anti-vibration design which reduces tool vibration by over 30% when compared to standard air hammers in its class. Noise output is reduced by up to 3 dBA as compared to standard air hammers, and the tool has been equipped with an improved ergonomic grip to provide additional comfort during extended use.

Generating 15% more force per impact than standard air hammers, the newest member of the Ingersoll Rand MAX family is one of the most powerful air hammers on the market, making it an essential addition to the tool bench for professional technicians.

Designed with high-volume fabrication and prep work in mind, the tool features a new quick-change retainer that reduces wear, and allows for faster chisel changeovers for increased productivity.  In addition, each of the tools is offered in a kit that includes a blow molded case and 5-piece chisel set (models 118MAXK and 122MAXK).

Availability of the new 118MAX and 122MAX Air Hammers is scheduled for September 2011. Learn more at http://www.ingersollrandproducts.com/airhammers.
