Elgin Industries has released a new
series of Elgin PRO-STOCK hydraulic roller camshafts engineered to help
maximize the performance of Ford 5.0L and 5.8L engines. These billet steel
camshafts are designed for engines that were originally equipped with roller
lifters.
Elgin PRO-STOCK camshafts combine
premium materials and advanced engineering to deliver unsurpassed power and
durability, according to the company. For 1985-89 Ford 302 HO engines, engine
builders should use the Ford 351W firing order, 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. These cams
also can be used on standard 1985-89 Ford 302 engines by rewiring the
distributor to a 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 firing order, the company says. Mass air
induction systems must be used on applications equipped with electronic fuel
injection.
