Featuring improved performance, features and ergonomics, Milwaukee Tool is introducing two new compact drills and four new compact impact drivers/wrenches this year, all of which will begin a transition to replace existing models on the market today.

The new models will include the M18 1/2” Compact Drill/Driver (2606), M18 1/2” Compact Hammer Drill/Driver (2607), M18 1/4” Hex Two-Speed Compact Impact Driver (2657), M18 1/4” Hex Compact Impact Driver (2456), M18 3/8” Compact Impact Wrench (2658) and M18 1/2” Compact Impact Wrench (2659).

“Since launching in 2007 and 2008, the 2601-22 and 2650-22 have been the most successful cordless drill and impact driver in Milwaukee company history, leading the charge in the M18 System’s rise as the fastest growing 18V system in the world,” says Mike Monteleone, product manager for Milwaukee Tool Corporation. “The 18V Compact Drilling and Fastening category has long been the largest and most competitive segment in professional power tools, and we will maintain leadership within this category with a dedication to delivering best-in-class solutions.”

The new products are the most compact tools in their respective classes, featuring improved ergonomics for greater accessibility into tight work areas. In addition, the tools have best-in-class power to weight ratios, delivering more power under load, more output torque, and increased speed for faster drilling and fastening.

With the durability users have come to expect from Milwaukee, the new drill drivers and impacts offer advanced electronics through Milwaukee’s REDLINK INTELLIGENCE. This system provides advanced overload protection in abusive situations and improved temperature management to maximize tool life and protect the user’s investment.

The new M18 1/2” Compact Drill/Driver (2606) and M18 1/2” Compact Hammer Drill/Driver (2607) are also the only tools in their respective classes that feature an all-metal gear case and all-metal ratcheting chuck for impact resistance and maximum durability.

The new M18 1/4” Hex Compact 2-Speed Impact Driver (2657) is the first tool in its class to give users the option to choose between two fastening modes for increased versatility. With Milwaukee’s proprietary 2-Mode DRIVE CONTROL feature, users are able to maximize productivity on the jobsite with optimized speed and power for the application at hand.

The new tools are compatible with the entire M18 System, now offering more than 50 cordless Lithium-Ion products. Milwaukee is committed to the ongoing development of this platform and will continue to provide innovative solutions that offer industry leading reliability, performance and ergonomics.
