Diagnostics Made Easier with APRA’s AutoElectricPro.com

The highly acclaimed automotive electrical wiring diagram website www.AutoElectricPro.Com from the Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association (APRA) has recently been updated with the latest data.

The highly acclaimed automotive electrical wiring diagram website www.AutoElectricPro.Com from the Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association (APRA) has recently been updated with the latest data.

Mark Kothe, APRA’s chief technical officer, explained that this updated version contains 142,818 wiring diagrams for 6,685 vehicle applications, ranging from model years 1985 through 2009. The site is powered by information from Mitchell1. As an additional benefit, members using this service are able to contact APRA to obtain diagrams that are outside the scope of the current data.

Kothe stated, “This is another great member service from APRA. Virtually every member that has subscribed to AutoElectricPro has renewed their subscription year after year. We are seeing more technical help lines from our remanufacturer members that use the diagrams from AutoElectricPro to help their customers. The website helps them reduce their ‘No Trouble Found’ warranty returns by enabling them to provide their customers with the ability to diagnose charging and starting circuits.”

Jeff Lawler, Owner of Larco Auto Electric Specialty in Kalispell, MT, was looking for headlamp wiring information for a 2009 Ford Mustang. His customer was rebuilding a salvaged car and was trying to replace the $1,000 apiece headlamp unit system with the standard filament bulb setup. After reviewing the diagrams from AutoElectricPro.Com, Jeff wrote, “The car just left our shop and it was almost too easy. After looking at the diagram online I could see that the wiring was the same. The change was only a matter of the pigtail plugs, which were mirror images of what was required by the halogen lamps. According to Motorcraft’s 2008-2009 pigtail identification guide, #WPT793 looked to be the right one. Problem solved.”

APRA’s President Bill Gager commented, “After a 30-day free trial you’ll quickly realize that AutoElectricPro.com is part of the arsenal of tools that you must have to stay abreast of the technology used on today’s modern vehicles. With so many automotive dealers being forced out of business, rebuilders and auto electric shops are faced with a new level of high-tech electrical repairs that they may not have had the opportunity to perform in the past. With AutoElectricPro.Com on your side, diagnostic time will be cut down and happy customers will be the end result.”

Subscriber rates to APRA members are $325 per year, or $30 per month. As a member of APRA you may visit www.AutoElectricPro.Com for a free 30-day trial of the service.
