Mechanics
and automotive/transportation equipment technicians now have even more reason
to appreciate the superior capabilities of the High-Performance Wireless
Recording Video Borescope System (DCS1800) and High-Performance
Recording Video Borescope System (DCS1600) from General Tools &
Instruments (General). According to the company, with more than 15 probe
options now available for each system including different probe types,
diameters, lengths and viewing angles the DCS1800 and DCS1600 have the
versatility to handle virtually any inspection application, all at a
best-in-class value.
The
DCS1800 and DCS1600 enable the speedy and precise inspection of engines,
cooling systems and other densely packed, hidden or inaccessible areas without
the need for disassembly. Proper vehicle inspection using these borescope
systems saves time and money by accelerating analysis and diagnosis, thereby
significantly reducing vehicle down times. With so many probe options, these
high-performance borescopes are ideal for a myriad of automotive/transportation
equipment maintenance and repair applications, such as:
Detecting and diagnosing
problems, defects or damage in chassis, suspension, transmission and more;
Inspecting internal engine
components (e.g., gas and diesel cylinders) for carbon deposits, wear and tear, corrosion and component failure;
Easily accessing A/C and heating systems or under
dash;
Checking brakes without
removing the wheel;
Inspecting gear boxes, fuel
injector nozzles, hydraulic assemblies and more; and
Detecting cooling system leaks
or blockages in radiators and engine blocks.
The
DCS1800 and DCS1600 each come standard with a slim 5.5mm (0.22 in.) diameter,
1m (3.28 ft.) long flexible-obedient, front view camera probe that is water,
oil and dust proof to IP67 standards. This standard probe features a depth of
field of 10 to 300mm (0.4 to 12 in.) and four adjustable super-strength white
LEDs that yield superior image resolution. It provides a horizontal field angle
of 46°, vertical field angle of 34° and diagonal field angle of 56°. Both
systems also come with three interchangeable mirrored viewing tips that provide
extra-wide view angles of 70°, 90° and 110°. Probe options abound for both
systems in lengths from 1m (3.28 ft.) to 22m (72 ft.) and include soft metal
and VGA resolution articulating probes, ultra-slim probes (3.9mm/0.15 in.) and
switchable front/side view probes. For complete information on all of the
different probe options, visit www.generaltools.com/probeoptions.
The
DCS1800 and DCS1600 each feature a 3.5 in. (88.9mm) color monitor for real-time
viewing and a removable 2GB SD card for recording video and still images.
Additionally, the DCS1800 has a wireless range of up to 10m (33 ft.) and can
record audio annotations via an integrated microphone.
