Ingersoll Rand, a global leader in compressed air technology and vehicle service tools and equipment, has launched several new models in its rotary screw air compressor line, furthering its offering of efficient, low-cost-of-ownership compressors. Models include the 5 to 15 hp (4 to 11 kW), the 15 to 50 hp (11 to 37 kW) and the Nirvana variable speed drive 7.5 to 40 hp (5.5 to 30 kW) rotary screw air compressors.
“Our integrated rotary screw compressor line meets the challenge of combining premium performance with durability, delivering a low cost of ownership and boosting our customers’ bottom line,” said Everson De Campos, global portfolio manager for air products at Ingersoll Rand. “We’ve engineered these compressors to be powerful, easy to maintain and energy efficient, decreasing power consumption and significantly reducing the risk of costly air leaks.”
Nirvana rotary screw compressors have the lowest power consumption in the industry at start-up, full-load and part-load conditions; delivering energy savings of up to 35 percent, compared to competitive models. Innovative component integration is enhanced by the IntelliDrive integrated variable speed drive (VSD) power system which offers unmatched scalability. A simple firmware upgrade enables shops to add to their air capacity without having to upgrade to a new compressor, allowing the Nirvana compressor to grow along with a shop’s business. The top-of-the-line Nirvana compressors deliver maximum operating flexibility and a Total Air System (TAS) in one package, along with world-class sound suppression; as low as 65 dBA.
All the compressors are built around reliable, low-speed airends and motors that deliver more air for less horsepower, cutting energy costs and extending compressor lifespan. Smart integration with 70 percent fewer connections eliminates leaks and pressure drops, maximizing reliability. Air leaks are further prevented by using hydraulic type SAE O-ring fittings on all critical connections.
All compressors are designed for easy operation and installation, with small footprints to help save space. The easy-to-use operator interface, convenient location of the service panel and easy access to internal components simplify maintenance and enable shops to install the unit close to a wall. Smart, energy-efficient controls eliminate wasteful unloaded running by quickly cycling the compressor off when not needed.
A whisper-quiet shaft-mounted centrifugal fan blower reduces power consumption and noise, simplifies ductwork, improves cooling and requires no maintenance. Quiet operation also allows the Ingersoll Rand rotary screw air compressors to be installed closer to point-of-use, cutting costs and ensuring a better, safer work environment.
