Northwood University will host its third annual Northwood University Auto Show Gala later this week. The theme for this year’s fundraiser is “You and Me in ‘63” and will take place on Friday, Sept. 27 at the Midland Country Club in Midland, Mich. A strolling dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a live auction to follow at 7:30 p.m. The event will celebrate the Auto Show’s 50th anniversary with a showcase of vehicles from 1963 and also will bring back The Simone Vitale Band for dancing following the auction.
The concept for this gala came out of interest and ingenuity of Northwood University Town & Campus women networking to create a fun new event for Northwood’s friends, alumni and community partners to enjoy. The fundraiser will offer guests a night filled with dinner, dessert, dancing and live auctioning, all in one venue. The Northwood University Alumni Network and the Michigan Board of Governors have taken the lead in organizing the event this year, aiming to keep it a vibrant part of the University and the Great Lakes Bay Region. Live auction items include: a Oakland Hills Country Club golf package, a guided fly fishing trip for two, the Walk to Free Enterprise, your own private dinner experience in Joe Louis Arena and a weekend at The Breakers to attend Northwood’s Outstanding Business Leaders Awards. All net proceeds benefit the Town & Campus Endowed Scholarship Fund and the Alumni Legacy Student Scholarship Fund.
This year’s presenting sponsor is Ford Motor Co.; platinum sponsor is The Display Group; and the gold sponsor is The Dow Chemical Co. Guests are encouraged to support the “You and Me in ‘63” theme and the Northwood University International Auto Show’s 50th anniversary by wearing or accessorizing in gold.
