“Disconnecting components takes time and tight clearance and corrosion can make steering rack adjustments a real knuckle buster” said Dirk Skogerboe, OTC product manager. “The OTC 7485 Locking Collar Rack Wrench tool opens up fully, wraps around a tie rod and allows force to be applied directly to the part without slipping. With this tool, it’s easy on, easy off and on to the next job.”

The locking collar rack wrench can be used on steering linkage, small-diameter exhaust and other pipes that need to be adjusted or repositioned. The eccentric cam design will fit pipes from 1-in. to 1-7/8-in. diameter.

“The time-saver here is that technicians don’t have to remove or disconnect these pipes or rods to adjust them, thereby making service faster and easier,” added Skogerboe.

Additional applications include strut cartridges and wheel alignment, which allows for repositioning without disassembling or removing connections.

The locking collar rack wrench is available now through OTC’s traditional distribution methods. For more information on OTC Tools, visit www.OTCTools.com.
