Shop owner, technician and author, Scott “Gonzo” Weaver is joining the Babcox Media Tech Group as a regular columnist beginning with the February issues of Brake & Front End, ImportCar and Underhood Service.

Weaver is the author of “Hey Look! I Found the Loose Nut!”, and the creator of GonzosToolbox.com. He is the owner of Superior Auto Electric in Tulsa, OK, and has been in business more than 25 years.

Jeff Stankard, vice president and group publisher at Babcox Media says the addition of Weaver’s column will  complement the technical content of ImportCar, Underhood Service and Brake & Front End magazines.

“Scott’s expertise, perspective and wisdom gained from more than 25 years in our industry will be an asset to Babcox Media,” said Stankard. “His views on the automotive aftermarket are fresh and positive in a market that can use a boost every once in awhile.. The sharing of his experiences and best practices will be resourceful to our readerhip.”

Weaver’s 12-bay shop specializes in electrical repairs and diagnostic problems that no one else can solve, which will be the focus of many of his columns. On occasion, he will hone in on situations with customers to lend some practical customer service advice.

“I’ve been in private business for more than 25 years, and I’ve got the grease under my nails and rough, coarse hands to prove it. And, I’ve seen all kinds of people come through my lobby door over the years,” says Weaver, “In our industry, we see more goofy and unbelievable behavior than the general public even realizes. These abnormal events in the daily running of the shop will help create my story ideas, which are relevant to anyone in the business.”

Weaver is looking forward to forging new relationships with readers and advertisers in his column and on-line via the Tech Group websites.
