Strategic Tools & Equipment Company announces the new, unique Oil Filter Removal Tool and Spill Boots. This set of three tools allows technicians to remove spin-on type oil filters and prevents oil from spilling during the removal of those filters. Durable, yet flexible, molded bellows form a cup around the filter and catch the oil. The three tools cover a huge percentage of cars and light trucks in the market.
Each of the individual tools has a formed base to grip the oil filter. Each tool has a cup/bellows, which completely surrounds the oil filter prior to removal. The technician simply reaches up, applies the tool, and twists off the filter. The filter remains in the tool, as does any excess oil. The technician safely pours out the oil and removes the used filter.
This exciting set of tools was created to improve safety and productivity in shop environments, while being environmentally friendly. Using the tools will reduce the incidence rate of burns from hot oil during oil changes. In addition, shops experience a reduction in oil rag usage, as less oil is spilled. Finally, shops that use the tools may experience higher customer retention, as less spilled oil remains on parts of the car, creating burned oil smells or unsightly drips in the driveway after service.
“This is an exciting improvement on the oil filter wrench technology that will prove to be very useful for technicians and shop owners,” says Ben Thompson, national sales director for Strategic Tools & Equipment Company and the owner of a Castrol Quick Lube franchise. “As an owner of a quick lube shop, I worry that the techs work safely and effectively. With these tools, I know that less oil is spilled, fewer rags are used, and my techs are working more safely.”
