Matt Borland, crew chief for Ryan Newman and the No. 39 Quicken Loans Chevrolet SS, gained a little breathing room in the battle for the $100,000 MOOG Steering and Suspension “Problem Solver of the Year” Award by picking up his fifth weekly MOOG award in Sunday’s AdvoCare 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Phoenix International Raceway. With just one race remaining in the Sprint Cup season, Borland holds a one-win lead over crew chiefs Todd Gordon (No. 22 Ford), Gil Martin (No. 29 Chevrolet) and Paul Wolfe (No. 2 Ford).

Gabriel Added More Than 273 New SKUs In 2013

Gabriel (Ride Control LLC) says it is continuing its aggressive new product introduction schedule, adding coverage for more than 15 million light vehicles in the past 12 months. The company has added more than 273 new light vehicle SKUs in 2013. Included in the company’s new product introductions for 2013 are parts with higher VIO vehicle coverage such as new Gabriel Ultra Struts that cover 2009-2012 Toyota Corolla and Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix.

Performing An Alignment On VW Jetta And Golf Vehicles

There apparently was room at the top for one more, as Todd Gordon, crew chief for Joey Logano and the No. 22 AAA Ford Fusion, captured MOOG Steering and Suspension “Problem Solver of the Race” honors at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday. In picking up his fourth weekly MOOG award, Gordon forced a four-way tie at the top of the $100,000 MOOG “Problem Solver of the Year” standings with just two races remaining in the 2013 season.
